17 loyalty vendors have been acquired, renamed or shut down

17 loyalty technology vendors recorded in this register have been acquired, merged, renamed or discontinued, with dated events running from 2014 to 2026. 8 of them are still profiled here, because a dead or renamed product keeps surfacing in searches long after the company stops existing.

The finding

17 companies in this register's ledger no longer trade under the name they were first profiled under. The dated ones span 2014 to 2026.

| Event type | Vendors | |---|---:| | acquired | 10 | | renamed or merged | 5 | | discontinued | 1 | | other | 1 |

The dated entries span 12 years, and 47 percent of the companies here, 8 of 17, still hold a profile on this site. 8 keep that profile written in the past tense. Somebody searching a name they remember should land on a page that says what became of it, not a 404.

11 of the 17 carry a year in their announcement, and those fall as 2014 (1), 2018 (1), 2019 (1), 2021 (1), 2023 (2), 2025 (3), 2026 (4). The clustering is real but the sample is small: no year here rests on more than 4 recorded events.

Method

Each entry was recorded against its company while the ledger was built, from the buyer's public statement or the company's own. The grouping above follows the verb in that statement rather than any judgement of ours, and a year is counted only where the statement carries one. The sample is 17 entries, collected 2026-09-29 and refreshed twice a year.

What this does not show

This is not a market census. It counts events this register recorded while profiling vendors, so a company never profiled here and acquired quietly does not appear, and the true rate of consolidation is higher than this page can show. Deal values are not held, and a deal announced but not closed is recorded as announced rather than completed. Nothing here says whether a product survived its acquisition intact.

Raw data

Every event sits beside the vendor it concerns in the vendor ledger, and each affected vendor's profile page states its own status in its opening sentence.
