This page describes the site as it works today. We will update it when that changes.
What this site collects
The site counts visits with Google Analytics, which uses cookies only as described under Cookies and analytics. It uses no advertising or advertising cookies, and it does not ask you to create an account. Like any website, the hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and operations.
Request forms
The request forms on our workshop, RFP management, vendor matching and vendor pages store what you send. When you submit one, we keep:
- what you typed and chose in the form, including your name, your email address and your answer to "What describes you best?"
- the page the form was on and the page you came from
- campaign tags in the link you followed, if it had any
- a scrambled version of your network address, which we use to limit abuse. The address itself is not stored.
We keep this so we can contact you about your request and see which kinds of request people send. The services on those pages are not open yet, and each form says so before you send it.
Newsletter and contact forms
The newsletter sign-up on the homepage and the form on our contact page are stored with the request forms, in the same way: what you typed and chose (your email address and your answer to "What describes you best?", plus your name and message on the contact form), the page the form was on, the page you came from, any campaign tags, and the scrambled network address.
We use your newsletter email address only to send you the monthly loyalty brief, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We use a contact message only to reply to you about it. Each form asks for your consent before you send it.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google, to count visits and see which pages help readers. It measures the pages you view, your rough location (country and city, worked out from your IP address), your device, browser and screen size, and the site or link that brought you here.
When analytics cookies are allowed, Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies on this site:
_ga: tells visits from the same browser apart, so we can count visitors rather than page loads. It lasts up to two years._ga_<ID>: keeps track of the current visit (session). It lasts up to two years.
Google documents that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses: in the EU, the address is used on servers in the EU to work out a rough location and is then discarded before any data is stored.
A banner asks for your choice on your first visit. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, no analytics cookies are set until you accept. Elsewhere, analytics cookies are set from your first page and are no longer used once you decline. Without your consent, the tag sends Google only cookieless signals, such as that a page was viewed, with no cookie identifier. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage on this site.
We do not use Google's advertising features: no ad cookies, no Google signals, no ad personalization and no remarketing.
