Wyndham Rewards moved to a four-tier award chart on September 15, 2026. Free nights now start at 5,000 points, down from 7,500, and a new 45,000-point top tier joins the existing 15,000 and 30,000 tiers.

Upgraded Points compared the full hotel list before and after the change: about 34% of 8,404 hotels became more expensive, 22% got cheaper and 44% stayed the same. Most increases hit hotels that moved from 15,000 to 30,000 points. Only 68 hotels landed in the new top tier.

The new prices apply to bookings made from the change onward. Existing bookings keep the points already redeemed, and Wyndham will refund the difference when a booked hotel dropped in price.

For program designers, the change shows the trade-off in award charts: a lower entry price makes the program easier to join, while new upper tiers shift the cost of the most sought-after redemptions.
