What is SAA Voyager?
Voyager is South African Airways' frequent flyer program. Members earn miles on SAA and Star Alliance flights and with partners, spend them on flight awards, upgrades and non-air awards, and move through Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum status based on Tier Miles flown.

Earning Voyager miles
Earn rule 1
1 mile for every R1.60 spent on the SAA base fare and carrier-imposed fees.
Earn rule 2
2,500 enrolment bonus miles after the first activity.
Earn rule 3
Status members earn bonus miles on SAA operating and marketing flights: 25% of SAA Tier Miles for Silver, 50% for Gold and 75% for Platinum.
Earn rule 4
Silver, Gold and Platinum members get 2,000 Appreciation Bonus Miles for every 15,000 SAA Tier Miles flown on SAA.
Earn rule 5
Miles are also earned on Star Alliance airlines and with hotel, car rental, financial and lifestyle partners, including the SAA Voyager Nedbank credit or cheque card.

Using Voyager miles
SAA Dynamic Awards on any available SAA fare, covering the base fare and carrier-imposed fees, with at least a 5% return on SAA spend guaranteed; taxes are paid separately.
JourneyBlitz Awards on SAA at 70% to 85% fewer miles, and SaverBlitz Awards at almost 90% fewer miles.
Upgrade Awards on SAA and Star Alliance Upgrade Awards.
Award flights on Star Alliance partners and on non-Star partner airlines.
Non-air awards such as car rental, Uber SA, NetFlorist and other lifestyle and retail partners.
Miles can be transferred to any nominated Voyager member in blocks of 1,000 at R120 per 1,000 miles, with no maximum. Transferred miles arrive as bonus miles, are valid for 30 days, do not count toward tier status and cannot be reversed.
Awards can be used by any person the member nominates.

Transfer of miles to another member: blocks of 1,000, R120 per 1,000, valid 30 days, no tier credit, non-reversible.
Voyager members can transfer miles to any nominated member of their choice. Miles can be transferred in denomination of 1000 miles. There is no maximum limit for transferring miles. Miles can be transferred at a cost of R120.00 per 1000 miles. The validity of miles once transferred is 30 days. Miles are transferred as bonus miles and does not count towards Tier status. Transfer of miles transactions are non-reversible and fees paid non-refundable.
When Voyager miles expire
Miles are valid for 3 years after the year in which they were earned and expire on 31 March. They do not expire if the member flew at least 6,000 Tier Miles on SAA-operated flights in the preceding January to December.

All miles earned are valid for 3 (three) years after the year in which such miles were earned by a Member. Any miles due to expire, will expire on 31 March each year.
6,000 SAA Tier Miles in the preceding calendar year stops expiry.
If a minimum of 6 000 (six thousand) Tier miles (earned on South African Airways operated flights excluding other affiliated airlines) have been flown for the period January to December preceding the date of expiry, miles will not expire.
