How does Starbucks Rewards work?
Starbucks Rewards is free to join. Members earn Stars on purchases at participating stores (1 Star per $1 at Green, 1.2 at Gold, 1.7 at Reserve) and redeem them from 25 Stars for a $1 drink add-on up to 400 Stars for merchandise. Earning 500 Stars in 12 months reaches Gold, and 2,500 more reaches Reserve.

Earning Stars
Earn rule 1
Green members earn 1 Star per $1 spent, Gold members 1.2 Stars per $1 and Reserve members 1.7 Stars per $1 at participating US stores.
Earn rule 2
Stars are earned by paying with a Starbucks Card or linked payment method in the app, or by scanning the member barcode and paying with cash, card or mobile wallet.

Digitally reloading $30+ to a Starbucks Card earns 10 Bonus Stars and $50+ earns 25 Bonus Stars, up to 25 Bonus Stars per transaction.

Green members' Stars expire six months after the calendar month in which they were earned, unless extended one month at a time by a qualifying purchase, a Reward redemption or a $30+ digital reload in the month before expiry. Stars do not expire while a member keeps Gold or Reserve status.
